Even before the weekend began, there was talk of Ferrari being the favorite for the Las Vegas Grand Prix at the 6.2-kilometre Las Vegas Strip Circuit in Nevada, USA. The characteristics of the circuit seem to suit the SF-24, and both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have openly expressed high expectations for the Sin City weekend.

The initial sessions provided positive signs in this regard, with the Scuderia showing strong race pace during free practice. Qualifying then saw Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc secure second and fourth positions, respectively. In the race, the two Ferrari SF-24 cars will undoubtedly go on the offensive, aiming to score as many points as possible against McLaren to keep the constructors' dream alive.

Fred Vasseur dodges the question
But is Ferrari really the favorite for the Las Vegas GP? Frederic Vasseur chose to sidestep the question with an ironic response. "Your car is always faster on Sundays," remarked the journalist while discussing the SF-24's race pace.

"Yes, but we're racing on Saturday," immediately replied the Ferrari Team Principal, prompting laughter from everyone.

As a reminder, to allow European fans to follow the entire Las Vegas weekend, the race will take place on Saturday evening in the U.S. Thanks to the time difference between Nevada and the rest of the world, everyone will have the opportunity to tune in as the third-to-last race of the 2024 Formula One season kicks off.
