All the attention on the test day in Abu Dhabi was on drivers who had switched teams, and for example, Carlos Sainz's debut with Williams seemed very positive, as well as the appearances of Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto with the Sauber C44 and Esteban Ocon with the Haas VF-24.

Ferrari had Charles Leclerc driving the SF-24, which was used for testing the 2025 Pirelli tires, while Arthur Leclerc and Antonio Fuoco took turns at the wheel of the red car reserved for rookies, equipped with the experimental diffuser that only Charles Leclerc had used in the race at Lusail, along with the 2024 tires. The two young drivers had the chance to become more familiar with the real car, as they will both continue to be involved in the crucial development work at the simulator next year.

However, few noticed that on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, both Loic Serra, the technical director, and Jerome d’Ambrosio, the deputy team principal, made their first public appearances. The former Mercedes duo joined the Scuderia on October 1st after the expected gardening period.

These two are very important pieces in Ferrari's puzzle, strongly wanted by Fred Vasseur after a long “courtship.” When the French team principal returned to Maranello after the end of the 2024 season, which concluded with second place in the Constructors’ Championship, Jerome d’Ambrosio made his first appearance on the pit wall of the Scuderia, taking charge of the team during the intense test day.

Loic Serra did not go unnoticed either, wearing the Ferrari uniform. The French engineer, an expert in tire usage, was able to evaluate the data collected from the new 2025 Pirelli tires, which aim to reduce overheating and thus promote more consistent race stints.

The Scuderia is preparing project 677, next year's car, which will have little in common with the red car that closed the season with five wins. Therefore, the impressions of the Monegasque driver after an intense test day (he completed almost two and a half Grands Prix) combined with the telemetry data can provide useful insights for the development of the 2025 car, which is currently being developed at the Racing Department.
