“We need to wait for Austin to understand the effectiveness of the updates”: with this recurring theme, Scuderia Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz had downplayed their performances in Monza and Baku. Now, in the wake of the Texas race, the Prancing Horse can smile: the path taken by Frederic Vasseur’s team is indeed the right one.

It's late evening in Italy when Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz cross the checkered flag in Austin, marking a historic one-two finish for Ferrari, who is back in the race for the 2024 Formula 1 championship. After a break of more than three weeks, the Circus’s return is explosive: the Prancing Horse dominates on that much-anticipated circuit, the "real" track from which answers about the developments were expected.

In this long-awaited weekend, the sought-after answers certainly arrived. The Ferrari one-two, achieved with a certain dominance, confirms the significant progress of the SF-24. Now, with five races remaining, there is optimism, but making predictions is complicated: "It's very difficult to predict where we will be in the upcoming races," Charles Leclerc explained at the press conference.

Charles Leclerc endorses the updates: "The bouncing is gone."
While there is uncertainty in predictions, optimism is certainly present: "In the last weekends – in Monza, Baku, and Singapore – we brought some updates. We've always said to wait for Austin to judge these developments, on a track we knew would be a true test bench," continued the weekend’s winner in the United States at the 5.513-kilometre Circuit of The Americas in Austin.

With a broad smile on his face and the trophy beside him, Charles Leclerc was able to relax: "It seems that everything worked as it should. It's positive for the future. This doesn't mean that every Sunday will be like this one in Austin, but it means we are working in the right direction. I hope we can replicate this result a bit more often." – the Monegasque driver pointed out.

Austin is the ultimate judge of Ferrari’s updates. Green light, the path taken is the right one, and the car has definitely improved, especially in some critical areas. "Five or six races ago, we struggled a bit with the bouncing. Now the bouncing doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. In this case, we have definitely gone in the right direction." – the Ferrari driver concluded.
