Leo Turrini commented on his blog *Profondo Rosso* about Ferrari’s announcement confirming Loic Serra as the new technical director, thereby ruling out the possibility of Adrian Newey joining.

Ferrari’s statement

This is the official statement from Ferrari, published today, confirming the French engineer’s position: “Scuderia Ferrari HP announces that the role of Technical Director Chassis has been entrusted to Loic Serra. The French technician, born in 1972, as previously communicated, will join the team starting from October 1.”

“Loic, in this new role, will report directly to Team Principal Fred Vasseur. Serra will oversee the Chassis Project Engineering division, led by Fabio Montecchi; Vehicle Performance, led by Marco Adurno; Aerodynamics, led by Diego Tondi; Track Engineering, led by Matteo Togninalli; and Chassis Operations, led by Diego Ioverno, who also retains his position as Sporting Director.”

“The role of Technical Director Power Unit will continue to be entrusted to Enrico Gualtieri, who will also report directly to Fred Vasseur,” the statement concludes.

Leo Turrini’s comment

The commentator expressed himself as follows: “In the series ‘The Fox and the Grapes’, soon to be aired on Netflix, there’s always time.”

“I’ve already ordered large quantities of Maalox for those who consider it a shame that Adrian Newey didn’t join (I’ll take a bit of Maalox myself, too),” he added.

Later, Leo Turrini wrote the following expressions in Latin, which we translate here in Italian: “Simply this. We will be fine here. If it is fair to compare small things with great ones [Serra with Newey, metaphorically speaking, editor’s note].”

He continued: “Thus passes the glory of the world. Through hardships to the stars. No offense intended. How long will you [Ferrari or Vasseur, editor’s note] abuse our patience? Under this sign, you will conquer. Pray for us.” Finally, he concluded with a simple but effective: “Towards greater things.”

The phrases written by Leo Turrini make one reflect, especially because some are clear references to the fact that Loic Serra, at least on paper, does not provide the same assurances as Adrian Newey.

In short, the journalist didn’t hold back, showing skepticism about. Fred Vasseur and Ferrari’s decision. What do you think about it?
