Formula E is getting closer to F1: growing viewership, a triumph in the USA
Today at 10:47 AM
Formula E is achieving record viewership, conquering the USA and approaching F1. The electric single-seater series is overcoming public skepticism and winning over motorsport enthusiasts. Now in its 11th season, it is experiencing remarkable growth in the United States—a major victory for EV motorsport.
A few years ago, such a result would have been met with skepticism and mockery. Yet, it has now become a reality. According to a report from Formula E, cited by RacingNews365, the Mexico E-Prix was a resounding success in terms of viewership in the United States.
The cumulative audience for the Mexico E-Prix reached 10.5 million viewers, marking a significant achievement: the highest ratings ever recorded in the United States. But it is not just the USA—viewership in the United Kingdom also saw a 120% increase for the São Paulo E-Prix.
Initially, this data was compared directly to that of F1, but it cannot actually be used as a benchmark. Nevertheless, it does not diminish the substantial growth of electric motorsport.
Formula E, a success on all fronts
Aarti Dabas, Formula E's media chief, does not hide her satisfaction: "This excellent start to the eleventh season of our championship, with our new and existing broadcast partners recording record audiences in our key markets, is a testament to the growth of our fanbase and the thrilling spectacle our drivers provide."
"With 14 more races to go, we are on track to deliver our biggest season ever and bring our show to an unprecedented number of fans."
