Fred Vasseur confident "everything is moving in the right direction" for Ferrari

Among the top teams this season, Scuderia Ferrari stands out without a doubt. The Prancing Horse was one of the key players in 2024, battling McLaren for the Constructors’ Championship until the final race. In Abu Dhabi, however, the Woking-based team edged out Ferrari, securing the Constructors’ title and ending a 26-year drought dating back to the era of Ron Dennis, Mika Hakkinen, and David Coulthard.
Frederic Vasseur, reflecting on Ferrari’s 2024 Formula 1 season, expressed great satisfaction with the progress made compared to the previous year. At the same time, the Team Principal emphasized that the title fight wasn't lost in Abu Dhabi but rather during the summer races, where the SF-24's performance fell short of expectations.
"We are moving in the right direction. We've improved in every single pillar of performance: reliability, strategy, pit stops, pure performance, and on the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), we've achieved five wins compared to one last year, and we scored 60% more points in 2024 than in 2023." – the French manager pointed out.
"Everything is moving in the right direction. We missed the final step, but when we arrived in Abu Dhabi, the chances of winning were already very low. After Saturday, they were even lower. It's true that after the second or third lap, I said: 'Ah, the planets are almost aligned now, let's push.' But we didn't lose anything in Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi itself was a great event; it was more in Canada where we had a double zero or during the summer that we missed something." – Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur concluded.
