The wait for the first Grand Prix
After last week’s tests, Formula 1 has officially begun the countdown to the first race weekend, scheduled for March 14-16 at the Melbourne circuit.
Virtually all analyses agree in placing McLaren as the team to beat at the start of the championship, with Ferrari as its closest pursuer—just as it was in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship.
Fred Vasseur boosts morale
Yesterday in Fiorano, the event “Puma x Ferrari 20 Years of Speed” was held to celebrate twenty years of collaboration between the German apparel brand and the Italian team. Present were team principal Frédéric Vasseur, drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, as well as WEC drivers Alessandro Pier Guidi and Antonio Fuoco, who were protagonists in Ferrari’s recent triple victory in Qatar.
Fred Vasseur spoke about the approaching Formula 1 season: “The feeling is positive after what we were able to test in Bahrain. Now we just have to head to Australia, where we will get the first feedback.”
Lewis Hamilton also spoke, greeting those present in Italian: “Buonasera a tutti” and answering a question about the future of the sport. He expressed hope that in twenty years, “there will still be great racing, perhaps with cars that are not entirely electric,” explained the seven-time world champion, as reported by Ansa.
