The Imola circuit gets a makeover for F1
The Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit in Imola is preparing to welcome Formula 1. The Italian track, set to host the official start of the European leg of the 2025 F1 calendar on the weekend of May 18, is undergoing some upgrades ahead of the Grand Prix paddock's arrival. According to the local newspaper Il Resto del Carlino, work is currently underway to install temporary grandstands, which should raise the venue's maximum daily capacity to an impressive 90,000 seats.

The construction has already begun and, as daily newspaper based in the city of Bologna Il Carlino reports, even earlier than usual. As was the case last year, circuit organizers plan to supplement the permanent grandstands with temporary seating to accommodate more fans. Some of these have already been installed, particularly after the Tosa corner and at the Gresini Chicane (formerly Variante Alta), where a covered area for disabled spectators is also being set up.

The Lewis Hamilton-Ferrari effect on the Emilia-Romagna GP
Additional grandstands will be installed in the coming weeks, including three at the Villeneuve Chicane—usually without seating—two at each side of the legendary Acque Minerali curve, and another temporary stand at the Gresini Chicane. Imola is aiming for a full house, boosted by the “red wave” sparked by Sir Lewis Hamilton's arrival at Ferrari.

With a maximum capacity of 90,000 spectators per day, the ultimate goal is to sell out all three days of the Emilia-Romagna GP, scheduled for May 16-18. Tickets have been on sale for weeks, with pre-sales reportedly meeting organizers' expectations and only a few remaining available. For pricing and purchase details, fans can refer to the this page.
