Lewis Hamilton did not even have time to finish his farewell tour at Mercedes before rumors began to circulate about his preparation for joining Ferrari. Officially, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff still has his driver under contract until December 31, and it will only be from 2025 that the British driver's name will appear in the pages of the Scuderia. However, since the end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the British champion revealed to Mara Sangiorgio that he can't wait to get to Maranello, and he will do everything to arrive in excellent shape for his new adventure.
According to what was revealed by the Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lewis Hamilton has already visited Maranello five times recently, both to familiarize himself with the place and procedures and to meet the team and the people who make it up. "The Englishman has already shown up several times at the Scuderia's offices (formerly GES, essentially Ferrari's F1 department) to get to know the team members he will work most closely with. From Matteo Togninalli, head of track engineering, to Riccardo Adami, who will be his engineer after working with Carlos Sainz and, even before that, with Sebastian Vettel. It seems that a good rapport immediately developed between the two, based on mutual respect formed in the paddock," writes Italian journalist Paolo Filisetti.
The same newspaper also reported that the driver is taking Italian lessons to better integrate into the environment. Everything seems set for the start of a great adventure, where everyone wants to give their best to achieve great results.
