The Lewis Hamilton – Riccardo Adami pairing
As revealed in recent weeks, Riccardo Adami will be Lewis Hamilton's race engineer during his adventure with Ferrari. In these very first days together, Hamilton and Adami will aim to get to know each other well to set up their work optimally for the 2025 season.
*Corriere dello Sport* uncovered an intriguing backstory, reporting a phone call between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, made by the Briton to learn more about the Brescia-born engineer, who worked extensively with the German during his time at Ferrari.

Who is Riccardo Adami?
Born in Concesio, in the province of Brescia, on November 27, 1973, Riccardo Adami began working in Formula 1 with Minardi in 2002, holding various roles before being promoted to race engineer three years later. After the team was sold to Red Bull and became Toro Rosso, Riccardo Adami continued in the same role, working with drivers such as Vitantonio Liuzzi, Sebastian Vettel, Sebastien Buemi, and Daniel Ricciardo.

In 2015, he joined Ferrari as a race engineer, first for Sebastian Vettel and, from 2021, for Carlos Sainz.

Lewis Hamilton's race engineers
Since his Formula 1 debut in 2007, Lewis Hamilton has had only two race engineers. Phil Phew accompanied him during his McLaren years, while the better-known Peter Bonnington, 'Bono,' worked with him during his 12 seasons at Mercedes. The collaboration between Sir Lewis and 'Bono' was one of the longest-lasting and most successful in Formula 1 history.
