The first day of testing in Bahrain has concluded, and Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari secured only the thirteenth fastest time. However, the British driver dismissed any concerns and clarified that no result should be taken too seriously, especially considering the work still to be done.
The seven-time world champion took to the track during the morning session and will also be the first of the two Ferrari drivers to hit the track again tomorrow in the middle of the Bahrain desert. His feeling with the car seemed to be positive, and the work ahead is certainly still in the early stages.
Lewis Hamilton struggling with Ferrari? “Tests are always interesting. You get to see for the first time what the different teams have developed, and you can start to get familiar with a new car and with the upcoming season,” said the British driver at the end of the day.
He added: “Being here with Scuderia Ferrari and getting back into the SF-25 is an incredible feeling for me. Our program involves trying different strategies, collecting as much data as possible, and getting familiar with the car.” – he pointed out.
He also dismissed any potential concerns. “Of course, it's still too early to really understand the absolute values, but everything seems to be going in the right direction, and as a team, we are working on the best way to optimize the work done.”
He concluded by looking ahead to the second day of testing, which officially kicked off the 2025 F1 season. “There will still be a lot of work to do in the coming days to complete our program and further understand this car, but I can’t wait to get back on track with this Ferrari.” – the seven-time Formula 1 world champion concluded.
