The Singapore track should be favorable to Scuderia Ferrari, at least on paper, and this Friday seems to have confirmed those expectations. In fact, the Ferrari SF-24 cats secured the top 3 in both Free Practice sessions at the 4.94-kilometre Marina Bay Street Circuit, challenged only by McLaren. But more than the lap times, Friday’s main focus was on the drivers’ feelings, and according to Marc Genè, Charles Leclerc had an excellent feeling with his car from the morning. This is an important sign, giving hope ahead of an intense Saturday: at Marina Bay, the qualifying session is more crucial than ever.

“The briefing isn’t over yet, but I can report that Charles is satisfied with his car. He said so in the first free practice session and again just now after FP2; he doesn’t want to change much on the car, and you only say that when everything feels right, and you can improve your performance. Charles says he didn’t do a perfect lap, while Norris did, so Leclerc still has some room to push in qualifying. He's very confident,” said the Spaniard in an interview for Sky Sport at the end of Friday practice in Singapore.

Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc himself mentioned that there are still some adjustments needed to get the car in the right window, but it’s a great starting point. It’s still too early to celebrate: the big unknown will be the weather.
