Marko: "Ferrari has lost an important figure like Enrico Cardile. We'll see what happens with Adrian Newey"

Ferrari in motion
As often whispered in recent weeks, the paths of Enrico Cardile and Scuderia Ferrari have separated after the recent British Grand Prix. The Italian engineer, who held the position of technical director of the chassis department, resigned and accepted an offer from Aston Martin where he will have a broader and more managerial role as Chief Technical Officer.

Helmut Marko’s view
In an interview with the Austrians of oe24, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko commented on the recent departure of the technical director from Maranello: “Ferrari has lost an important man, the head of chassis Enrico Cardile. Let’s wait to see what happens with Adrian Newey. He has some important offers, even from England, and he can decide where to go.” – Helmut Marko confirmed.

The Adrian Newey saga
It's no secret that Adrian Newey will be able to announce his future not before the autumn, with the Red Bull legal department moving in the direction of delaying any announcement and also the gardening period as much as possible. The legendary British engineer will be able to start working with his new team only after the first quarter of 2025. But what choice will the British designer make? The talks with Ferrari, as reported, have been ongoing since 2023 but have reached a stalemate. The path seemed clear, but over time some notable bumps have emerged. In the meantime, the British teams have stepped in, with Aston Martin ready to complete its technical dream team (in addition to Enrico Cardile, the organization will include Andy Cowell and also Dan Fallows) and McLaren moving without publicizing its moves.
