Mattel unveils its new 2025 Hot Wheels F1 collection: but where is Ferrari?

F1 and Mattel, a leader in the toy industry, have introduced a new range of Hot Wheels products. The 2025 Hot Wheels Formula 1 collection will launch globally and feature models representing eight teams from the championship.
The collection will include Basics lines available as single cars or in five-car packs, Premium items for collectors, and innovative playsets designed for home racing. This release expands on the limited-edition 1:64 scale F1 model introduced in 2024. The Basics models, also in 1:64 scale, are built for racing on new fast-track circuits. The Premium models will feature realistic details such as metal bodies, official team liveries, driver numbers, and Pirelli tires.
And Ferrari?
Ferrari is notably missing from the lineup, alongside Aston Martin. It appears neither team reached a financial agreement with Mattel, so their models won't be available—at least for now.
Fans can race on two new circuits: the Formula 1 Sprint Circuit and the Formula 1 Sprint Race. The Sprint Circuit allows for overtaking and battles all the way to the finish line, while the Sprint Race features a DRS booster for an extra edge in passing opponents. In 2025, Mattel will also appear at select Grands Prix with special Hot Wheels experiences, including exclusive activations and sales points aimed at bringing families together and fueling their passion for Formula 1.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1, commented: "It's fantastic to see this collection hitting stores worldwide. We want to ignite fans' passion for racing, and these highly detailed models allow them to experience the thrill of Formula 1 in the palm of their hand." Roberto Stanichi, Executive Vice President of Hot Wheels, added:
"The response from fans after the announcement of the partnership has been incredible. This phase is focused on delivering unique products and experiences. We are merging the worlds of Hot Wheels and F1 in a way never seen before. And we're just getting started."
With this collection, F1 and Mattel aim to bring the excitement of racing into homes around the world, allowing fans of all ages to experience the magic of Formula 1 like never before.
