Some people celebrate their birthdays by dining out with family and friends, hosting a party at home, or enjoying a fun activity. Max Verstappen, however, prefers to celebrate by getting behind the wheel. If there isn’t a Formula 1 race happening, he’s just as content driving a GT car.

Following the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay street circuit, the world champion hinted at his birthday plans for this year—spending it at a racetrack. Ad indeed the Dutchman gifted himself a unique birthday treat, taking advantage of the break ahead of the United States Grand Prix.

Yesterday, Max Verstappen rented out Italy’s Mugello Circuit, Scuderia Ferrari’s regular Formula 1 test track, in order to drive a Ferrari 296 GT3. Despite the challenging conditions caused by heavy rain, Max Verstappen still managed to complete several laps on the drenched track.

While his lap times remain undisclosed, it’s safe to assume the Dutchman was as quick as ever. It's even possible Max Verstappen returned to the track on Wednesday, as reports suggest he has not yet returned to his Monte Carlo home.
