Oscar Piastri has no doubts amid F1 world championship battle: Abu Dhabi will favor Ferrari

Goodbye Qatar, moving on: F1 heads to nearby Abu Dhabi for the final event that will decide the constructors’ championship: Charles Leclerc’s or Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari, or Lando Norris’s and Oscar Piastri’s McLaren? The Australian looks toward the Yas Marina weekend with a clear idea.
Contrary to all predictions, Ferrari leaves Losail with a reduced gap to the leading McLaren. Frederic Vasseur’s team, taking advantage of a heavy penalty for Lando Norris, managed to end the Qatari weekend "on a high note": now the gap between the two teams is "only" 21 points.
Twenty-one points are not easy to make up in a single race, far from it. Oscar Piastri, during the post-GP press conference in Qatar, was not one to engage in superstitious games. "How do I see the battle with Ferrari? If all goes well, it should end positively for us…," explained the Australian, who, however, does not consider Yas Marina a favorable track for his McLaren.
Oscar Piastri: "Abu Dhabi a Ferrari-friendly Circuit"
For the 2001-born driver, the Prancing Horse will be the number one favorite for the weekend: "I think Abu Dhabi is a stronger circuit for Ferrari, I'd say. Maybe I was a bit more surprised to see their race pace here in Qatar."
Impressed by Charles Leclerc’s and Carlos Sainz‘s SF-24, the Woking team driver is not giving up. For the red team to win the championship, it requires not only a triumph from Maranello's men but also a disaster for the papaya team. This scenario is not in Oscar Piastri’s forecast: "I don't think we will be slow, though. I believe it will be a good fight. I think the top four teams at the moment are really close on their good days. I expect the same to happen at Yas Marina."
