Relentless need for adrenaline: Sebastian Vettel, four-time F1 world champion, appears at the Alpine Ski World Cup in Kitzbühel. The former driver, now two seasons away from the World Championship circuits, has already shown talent beyond motorsport. Not only mountain biking, the German also tries his hand at alpine skiing.

There are parallels between what happened in recent days, with Lewis Hamilton‘s first test in Fiorano, and what happened in 2015, Sebastian Vettel’s first year with Ferrari. The two champions are friends and spoke to each other even before #44’s arrival in Maranello. Guided by the same dream, they wore the Red suit, with the goal of leaving a mark.

Following in the footsteps of the Kaiser, Michael Schumacher, this would have been Sebastian Vettel’s desire with the Maranello team. To bring the Prancing Horse back to where it belongs, at the top of the world standings. Unfortunately, due to a lot of bad luck and a few too many mistakes, the dream never became reality. Nearly achieved in 2017 and 2018, but never tangible, never concrete.

After Formula 1: Sebastian Vettel between mountain biking and alpine skiing
A brief stint with Aston Martin is enough for the German – with which he also achieved a brilliant podium in Azerbaijan in 2021 – before hanging up his helmet. But it is only the F1 helmet. Far from the Circus, Sebastian Vettel continues to enjoy different disciplines: just last year, he participated in the Swiss Epic, the most important stage mountain biking race in Europe.

This year, instead, here he is trying alpine skiing at the World Cup in Austria. He took part in the Hahnenkamm Trophy, an annual (and prestigious) week of competitions held in Kitzbühel. Because those who have competition in their blood rarely manage to truly stop.
