Sir Jackie Stewart comments on Lewis Hamilton's choice: "Even the Maasai of Africa know Ferrari"

Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari have entered the heart of pre-season activities to prepare as best as possible for the start of the 2025 Formula 1 championship. The seven-time British world champion and Charles Leclerc have already had the opportunity to drive both during some private tests and in support of the development work being carried out by Pirelli.
Less than a month before the official winter pre-season testing session, scheduled to take place at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir (February 26-28), the question remains whether Lewis Hamilton made the right choice in joining Maranello in an attempt to win his eighth world title and become the most successful driver in Formula 1 history, surpassing even Michael Schumacher.
Lewis Hamilton-Ferrari, a winning decision? Sir Jackie Stewart: “I wouldn’t rule it out”
This question was also addressed by three-time world champion Sir Jackie Stewart in an interview with ‘Sky Sports’. According to the former driver, the decision to embrace the Prancing Horse cause could have been very natural and logical, as “Ferrari is the most important name in the world. If you went to a Maasai warrior in the most remote part of Africa and asked him about Ferrari, he would definitely know it.” – explained the British former racing driver, broadcaster and motorsport executive from Scotland, who competed in Formula One from 1965 to 1973.
And even if Lewis Hamilton’s decision may have “caught him a bit off guard,” according to Sir Jackie Stewart, there is a chance it could turn out to be a successful move: “Driving for Ferrari is one of the most exciting things there is, and it is usually a very successful brand. To be honest, it’s a possibility I wouldn’t rule out,” he concluded, according to ‘mirror.co.uk’ and also reported by the Italian website formula1.it.
