Special "nostalgic" Ferrari helmet for Charles Leclerc at Silverstone: Here's what it celebrates – PHOTO

Charles Leclerc has a special helmet for the Silverstone weekend. During the first free practice session for the 2024 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, slight differences could be noticed regarding the helmet of Ferrari driver #16. Specifically, the modified area is the top part of the “helmet”. Reporters at Silverstone from F1inGenerale investigated and confirmed this intuition. Here is the PHOTO.

The meaning
As can be inferred from the inscription “FIRST OPEN WHEEL RACING VICTORY,” the helmet celebrates 10 years since Charles Leclerc’s first victory in an open-wheel race. Prominently displayed is the date of the event: July 5, 2014, exactly a decade from the Friday of this weekend. Completing the nostalgic circle is the location where this event took place: the Monza circuit, one of his current team’s home races where, incidentally, the Monegasque driver won and made Ferrari fans around the world fall in love with his 2019 victory. Finally, on the edge, “JB17” is visible, a tribute to his lifelong friend Jules Bianchi.
