Stefano Domenicali chooses the greatest
We are now accustomed to seeing Stefano Domenicali as the head of Formula 1, a role he has held for four years, bringing both responsibilities and accolades, praise and criticism. No matter how you view it, the Italian manager has been instrumental in the growth of the sport, which is experiencing a golden age in terms of economics and popularity.
This Formula 1 is undoubtedly different from the past, and from the era Stefano Domenicali experienced at Ferrari as a team manager, sporting director, and finally as team principal. During that time, the Imola native witnessed some of the most extraordinary talents in racing. However, the title of the greatest is reserved for just one.
Stefano Domenicali's comments
"The best driver I've ever seen? I've seen incredible people. I don't want to disrespect anyone, but Michael Schumacher, for sure, holds a unique place in my heart," he said during Pirelli's *Box box box* vodcast. "How can I not remember the 2004 season! But I recall every single moment of the time we spent together. It was an incredible period, but also the most challenging." – the Italian manager pointed out.
One detail stood out to Stefano Domenicali: "I remember very well the first day he arrived in Maranello. He came with a very pragmatic approach for a world champion. He's known for being very direct, very tough in a way. He would show up with notes, a notebook, a pen, and he'd write everything down. And then, I'd say it was very, very interesting to see how he evolved while working with our team and how the team evolved working with him." – the former Ferrari team principal concluded.
