Ferrari's 2025 season in Formula 1 might become complicated: according to Toto Wolff, this generation of cars does not align with Lewis Hamilton's driving style. Since 2022, the year the new technical regulations were introduced, the Briton has secured only two victories, both in the previous season. His now-former team principal believes he has identified the main issue.

That Lewis Hamilton has entered the final stages of his career is hardly in question. Ferrari could be—and most likely will be—the last team for the seven-time world champion, who will one day leave the paddock as a driver for the Prancing Horse. Since 2021, the year of his last title fight, the Englishman has almost stopped being surprising.

Few standout performances—some still remarkable—have not compensated for a multitude of entirely lackluster outings. Mercedes certainly hasn't shone, either: Brackley has struggled to adapt to the new philosophies introduced in 2022. According to Toto Wolff, team principal of the Silver Arrows, Lewis Hamilton's lackluster performances are partly due to his driving style.

Toto Wolff: "Hamilton is Not Too Old to Win in F1"
Speaking to *Auto Motor und Sport*, Toto Wolff shared his perspective: "This generation of cars doesn't suit Lewis. He brakes late and drives the car aggressively into corners. The car and tires sometimes don't forgive that. It's more evident in qualifying than in races. Other factors could have played a role. I don't believe he was already focused on his new team. Lewis is too professional for that." – the Mercedes team boss pointed out.

"Aging is an issue that affects all of us. But I believe that a top athlete like Lewis, who is completely focused on one goal, can continue for a long time. You can see it clearly with Fernando [Alonso]: with all his experience, he is still fast. It's similar with Lewis." – Toto Wolff concluded.
