U.S. Presidential race, Kamala Harris: "I follow Formula 1, I'm a fan of Lewis Hamilton"

U.S. Presidential candidate Kamala Harris is also a fan of F1. The Democratic candidate shared her passion for the top racing series, which she hasn't been able to follow as much lately due to her campaign commitments. However, Harris assures that everyone in her family loves Formula 1 and they wake up early when the time zone isn't favorable.
The race for the U.S. Presidency also passes through the F1 paddock. Just a few months ago, during the Miami Grand Prix, Donald Trump—the Republican Party candidate—made an appearance in the paddock, not without some controversy. The tycoon met with Zak Brown and other members of the McLaren team, taking photos and shaking hands with drivers.
Although she hasn't appeared at the track, Kamala Harris has now opened up about her love for racing and Formula 1. The former prosecutor and now Democratic candidate, stepping in for current President Joe Biden, described herself as a huge fan, as is the rest of her family. Her favorite driver is Lewis Hamilton, who will leave Mercedes at the end of the season to join Ferrari.
"Formula 1 is fantastic. We love it, the whole family does," she revealed to Sirius XM, explaining that her comments are not part of her election campaign: "No, God no. Actually, I haven't been able to follow it much recently because I'm on the campaign trail. Also, depending on where they're racing and the time of day, you have to wake up [early]."
Kamala Harris's support for Lewis Hamilton is certainly mutual: during the 2020 Presidential election, the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion from the UK celebrated Joe Biden's victory, with Harris as Vice President, on his Instagram stories.
