With his victory from 17th on the starting grid at the Sao Paulo GP, Max Verstappen has rewritten Formula 1’s record books. While four other drivers before him managed to win an F1 race starting from 17th or lower, the Dutchman is now the only driver in history to win races from ten different starting grid positions. But from which starting position have the most victories in the premier motorsport series been achieved?

What about the third grid spot? Drivers starting from third have claimed victory 135 times, while 67 wins have come from fourth on the grid. Another intriguing fact is that no one has ever won a race starting from 20th (the last position in the current grid format with 10 teams of 2 cars each) or 21st.
