Bimota and Axel Bassani have a lot of work to do after the Portimao World Superbike Test.
Axel Bassani left the Portimao World Superbike Test 'without a really good feeling' and admits that he and Bimota have 'a lot of work to do'.
This comes as a surprise after Bassani's start at Bimota was positive as he featured at the sharp end of the timesheets.
During the opening round of the season, he scored points in all three races and sits 10th in the World Superbike Championship.
However, ahead of the second round of the season in Portimao, he struggled at the two-day Portimao Test.
"It's been two strange days of testing due to the weather, like always," Bassani said.
"We had to do a lot of work in not many hours, but we tried to check all the items we wanted to try. It's been quite intense.
"Honestly, I finished the test without a really good feeling so I don't know how the Portimao round will go. We have to work a lot.
"At the moment, I don't feel really fast, and I hope to feel better during the race weekend."
Bassani's comments were the polar opposite of his teammate, Alex Lowes. The British rider stated that his feeling at the Portimao Test was the best feeling that he had with the KB998 Rimini.
The Portimao World Superbike Round will occur at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve on 28–30 March.
