Before switching to the Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team, Lowes claimed one last podium in green at the final round of the 2024 season.

On Sunday Alex Lowes rode his final World Superbike race in green. The 34-year-old will begin a new era in 2025 as his team becomes the Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team. However, on his final weekend with the Kawasaki ZX-10RR, the British rider confirmed his fourth-place finish in the 2024 Championship.

Throughout the Spanish World Superbike round at Jerez Lowes finished in fourth, third and fifth. Meaning in his final weekend in green he also claimed his 12th podium of the 2024 World Superbike season.

"A proper solid weekend a pleasure to get a podium on the final day for me with the Kawasaki," Lowes said after the final race of the season.

"I felt a bit of pressure this weekend to deliver a good weekend it has been a nice five years for me in the project. Overall, the Kawasaki with KRT has been one of the most successful bikes in World Superbike history. It is nice for the team to have a strong weekend and nice to get P4 in the Championship. Overall, we are happy."

"I will look back on my time in green with a smile."

Despite the new colours, team name and bike for 2025 Lowes will be staying with the same people. However, he admitted that he will miss the ZX-10RR and in the future will look back on his time in green 'with a smile'.

"It made it easier because I am staying with the same team," Lowes said after being asked if he was emotional before the final race of the season.

"I was sat on the grid, I wasn't getting emotional, but I was thinking this is going to be the last time I get to ride this bike for now. It was not too bad, it would have been a lot worse if I was leaving the guys.

"I have loved riding the bike, this year has probably been my best year racing. I have felt like I can attack when I have good grip, I have had some great races, I have done some great passes and it has been a pleasure to ride. It will be a shame not to ride it anymore, but I will look back on my time in green with a smile."

"I had a better year in terms of position in 2019, but I think this year was better." - Alex Lowes

Lowes went on to say that he believes the 2024 season has been his best year in the World Superbike Championship. Despite finishing third in the 2019 season with Yamaha Lowes believes the 2024 season with Kawasaki has been better on and off the track.

Lowes said: "I had a better year in terms of position in 2019, but I think this year was better. On and off the bike I am a better person and a better rider, the depth of the Championship is also harder now. I think P4 is a good effort, I would say it is probably the best year I have had in my World Superbike career."

Finally, the British rider looked towards 2025 and his new era with the Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team. Lowes knows that a new project of this size will take a lot of work and patience before it can deliver podiums and race wins.

"It is going to be a new challenge, we need to be patient and work hard in the winter," Lowes said when speaking about the new Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team project.

"World Superbikes is never easy, but we don't know where we are going to start, the target is just going to be to improve. It is nice to see the relationship between Bimota and Kawasaki and to see the investment that is going into it. We need to be patient and see where we start off."
