New rumours place Toprak Razgatlioglu in Honda's World Superbike squad before moving to MotoGP.

Toprak Razgatlioglu's manager, Kenan Sofuoglu, has reignited MotoGP rumours surrounding the two-time World Superbike Champion.

Before the Portuguese World Superbike Round, several media outlets had stated that Razgatlioglu had signed with Honda for the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.

However, Razgatlioglu was quick to shut down the rumours and labelled it as 'funny'.

"I don't know who spread that," Razgatlioglu explained.

"It's not true, but it's funny. I laughed a lot; even my brother called me. I told him it wasn't true, too.

"I'm free for next year, but I don't know what's going on yet. I don't know whether I'll continue with BMW or not."

However, not long after Razgatlioglu shut down the MotoGP rumours, a new rumour began doing the rounds.

The new reports stated that Razgatliogli would join Honda's World Superbike squad for the 2026 season before entering the MotoGP Championship with the Japanese manufacturer in 2027.

This new report would place Razgatlioglu in the MotoGP paddock as the new technical regulations come into play. The regulations will see a reduction in engine capacity to 850cc, reduced aerodynamics and a switch from Michelin to Pirelli tyres.

"Nothing is clear about his future," Sofuoglu told Speedweek.com.

"It looks like there are two options for Toprak in MotoGP. At the moment, however, we're more focused on winning the second title with BMW.

"We didn't start the season well and need to concentrate on the Superbike title and more victories. Like in Portimao – Toprak is back!

"But of course, my job will soon begin to determine where Toprak's future lies. Currently, I estimate the chances at 50:50 for MotoGP and Superbike."

Honda is in need of a saviour in their World Superbike squad, the Japanese manufacturer has not won a World Superbike Championship since 2007 when James Toseland won the title with Ten Kate Honda.

Razgatlioglu could be the saviour that Honda needs after he won BMW their first Superbike title in 2024, and with the added incentive of MotoGP in the future, the Turkish rider could be more likely to switch to the Japanese manufacturer.
