Portuguese WorldSSP, Race One Results | Can Oncu claimed his first win as a Yamaha rider

Turkish rider, Can Oncu, claimed his first World Supersport victory since 2023 as he won his first race with the Yamaha R9.
Can Oncu continued his impressive weekend at Portimao as he claimed his first victory as a Yamaha rider. The Turkish rider switched to the Yamaha R9 for 2025 and after three races has won his first race with his new machine.
Stefano Manzi made it a Yamaha 1-2 in Portugal as he crossed the line in second place. The Italian was able to regain the Championship lead after the third race of the season.
Bo Bendsneyder was the top non-Yamaha rider as he rounded out the podium on the MV Agusta.
Lucas Mahias missed out on a podium as he crossed the line in fourth place on the GMT94 Yamaha.
Tom Booth-Amos came through the field from his 12th place starting position. The British rider lost control of the standings but finished in a positive fifth place.
Three Ducati riders ended the opening race of the weekend in sixth, seventh and eighth places. Marcel Schroetter put his WRP Racing machine in sixth, Jaume Masia was in seventh with the Orelac Racing Verdnatura machine, and Valentin Debise crossed the line in eighth for Renzi Corse.
The sole Kawasaki rider of Jeremy Alcoba finished the race in ninth place.
The final rider inside the top ten was Federico Caricasulo on the Motozoo ME AIR Racing MV Agusta.
