Toprak Razgatlioglu could be sidelined until the Phillip Island Test in February.

It had been recently reported that Toprak Razgatlioglu would miss the opening 2025 World Superbike preseason test.

At the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team launch on the 15th of January Razgatlioglu and BMW spoke about the reigning Champions injuries. However, they also provided what appear to be worrying updates about when Razgatlioglu's preseason testing will get underway.

Originally it was reported that the two-time World Superbike Champion would only miss the Jerez Test. However, it is looking more likely that he will miss the Portimao Test as well due to his broken finger.

"Now, it's getting better. Maybe I'll be at Portimao. If not, for sure, Phillip Island," Razgatlioglu explained.

"I crashed with the enduro bike. In the off-season, I'm always riding an enduro bike because I love it but I crashed; it was very small, I don't understand why my finger is broken.

"I need time, maybe two weeks or three. I'll try to come back at the Portimao test."

After Razgatlioglu gave his verdict on his return for testing the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team Principal Shaun Muir, gave his verdict. From BMW's perspective, it seems that they do not expect Razgatlioglu back to full testing capabilities until he arrives in Australia in February.

"Toprak will not attend Jerez, and at the moment it's 50/50 whether or not he will come to Portimao because of how short the time is between the two," said Muir.

"It's such a critical part of his right index finger which is his primary braking hand, so we don't want to rush this, worst case is Monday in Australia, best case is limited testing in Portimao."

If Razgatlioglu misses the Portimao Test his testing duties will likely fall to Sylvain Guintoli and Markus Reiterberger.
