Tarran Mackenzie will continue with his Portimao Test work plan this weekend

Tarran Mackenzie plans on extending his Portimao Test work plan to Round Two of the World Superbike Championship.
After a disappointing opening round of the 2025 World Superbike Championship, Tarran Mackenzie is looking for further progress at Portimao.
The British rider has struggled with the Petronas MIE Racing Honda Team ever since he entered World Superbikes. The start to this season has been no easier with a 16th, 18th and DNF as his first three results of the year.
However, Mackenzie and his team are planning on using the Portimao World Superbike Round as an extended test. After a weather-disrupted Portimao Test two weeks ago, there is still testing work that the 29-year-old wants to complete.
"I'm looking forward to getting back to Portimão after our recent test," Mackenzie said.
"We only had time for limited dry laps during testing, but I felt like I had a better feeling on the bike. The weather looks more settled for the upcoming race weekend too, so that's good and hopefully we can get on with the work plan that got interrupted at the test.
"I'm looking for a smoother weekend than we had in Australia; if we can keep progressing and I can feel better on the bike then we should be in a position to do well.
"Let's see what the Portimão round brings, like I say I'm looking forward to it, and then we don't have too long before Assen, so hopefully we can carry a bit of momentum forward."
