After dominating the Phillip Island World Superbike Test, Nicolo Bulega has downplayed his chances for the season opener.
Nicolo Bulega walks away from the Phillip Island Test as the fastest rider across the two days of testing.
The Italian has set a blistering pace across the final pre-season test and was the only rider inside the 1:28s throughout the test.
After the final day of testing Bulega explained his improvements from the opening day to the final day.
"It was good. I improved the feeling from Monday, which was already good," Bulega stated.
"I think we have a good package to start this race weekend and I'm happy with the feeling with the bike. Everything is working well for the moment.
"I know we have to improve again but, from Day One, I improved a little bit and if we can make another small step, it's good."
After the final day of testing the #11 was asked if his World Superbike rivals should be worried after seeing his pace. Bulega played off the claims that his rivals should be worried as testing means nothing in his eyes.
"No. Testing is nothing. It's good to have a good feeling but you don't take points during the test.
"We'll see during the race weekend. Starting like this is very good. I will start the weekend very positively and try to stay at the front."
