Xavi Cardelus is the latest Moto2 rider to make the jump to World Supersport for the 2025 season.
After competing with Fantic Racing in the 2024 Moto2 World Championship, Xavi Cardelus has made the move to World Supersport for 2025.
The Andorran rider has taken part in four World Supersport races in the past with MV Agusta and Yamaha. However, he will take on his first full season of World Supersport racing with Orelac Racing VerdNatura on a Ducati Panigale V2.
The 26-year-old had an underwhelming 2024 season after finishing runner-up in the 2023 Moto2 European Championship. Across the entire 2024 Moto2 World Championship Cardelus scored zero points and had a best finish of 16th.
"This important change in my sporting trajectory allows me to arrive at a very competitive World Championship in which I can demonstrate my potential," Cardelus stated.
"I will be riding a type of motorcycle that adapts better to the characteristics of my riding and opt to be one of its protagonists despite their high level of demand.
"I will be in a team like the Orelac VerdNatura that is professional, serious, has a very familiar treatment and has shown its potential throughout the last seasons with the results achieved with their bikes by world-class riders such as Jorge Navarro and the Raffaele de Rosa".
