John Bennett –

Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) is proud to announce John Bennett as a full-time driver in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for the 2025 season. Following a promising debut in the final two rounds of 2024, John has proven his ability to rise to the challenges of the series, showing steady progress in a new car. This step sets the stage for an exciting full-season campaign.

John's motorsport journey began in 2020 with the Ginetta GT5 Challenge, where he achieved three podiums in his rookie season. The following year, he showcased his potential by securing five wins and ten podiums, finishing as Vice Champion. In 2022, he transitioned to single-seaters in the GB3 Championship, consistently scoring points and achieving a podium at Donington Park. His performance peaked this year with three wins and eleven podiums, securing the Vice Championship title.

John's debut into Formula 2 came during the final two rounds of the 2024 season with the team. In Qatar, he tackled the challenges of the Lusail International Circuit and had to quickly adapt to the Formula 2 car. Despite facing a steep learning curve, John steadily improved his pace throughout the weekend. His competitive edge was evident in his first Feature Race, where he finished in the points, securing 8th place. These results underscored his rapid adaptation to the F2 car and the series’ demands.

Brad Joyce – Team Principal, Van Amersfoort Racing: "We are delighted to welcome John to our full-time Formula 2 line-up for 2025. His progression through the final rounds of the 2024 season demonstrated his ability to quickly adapt in challenging conditions. The team is certain that he is ready for this next step. We look forward to supporting him throughout the season as he continues to grow and compete at one of the highest levels of motorsport."

John Bennett – Formula 2 Driver, Van Amersfoort Racing: "I am delighted to be racing with VAR in Formula 2 for 2025. Since my first day testing in F3, it has been a great environment to work in. Thank you to the team for all their support, and I cannot wait to get started next year!"

With John Bennett joining the 2025 Formula 2 grid, the team is confident in its ability to make an impact in the upcoming season. Hyundai –

Hyundai Motorsport has announced a series of changes to its team structure ahead of the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship season. Pablo Marcos will return to the Frankfurt-based team ahead of the new season. Marcos was team manager at Hyundai between 2021 and 2023, but team principal and president Cyril Abiteboul said his job will be different this time around.

The squad's WRC Program Manager Christian Loriaux will leave Hyundai. The technical aspect of Loriaux's job will be fulfilled by Francois-Xavier Demaison. Abiteboul said: "Everyone at Hyundai Motorsport is enjoying a well-deserved break from competition, however – as is often the case at this time of year – we are making some key changes within the company to support our 2025 push and adapt to our environment.

"We had a very strong 2024 season but didn't achieve everything we set out to, so looking ahead to a transformative year for our motorsport operations we have spent time considering how we can streamline our organisation. We are therefore delighted to welcome Pablo Marcos back to Hyundai Motorsport as Team Manager.

“His remit is very different to his previous role from 2021 to 2023 with Pablo now solely focused on realising our sporting and performance targets within WRC. Tolga Ozakinci will now oversee the infrastructure across our rallying and racing events as well as working with our associated supplies and partners, some of them being shared across programs.

"Finally, we would like to thank Christian for his contribution to our mission over the past three years. He has been a great support personally when I joined the world of rally and we wish him all the best for his future endeavours."
