Chase Sexton leads the pack in points after winning last weekend in Anaheim followed closely by Ken Roczen and Jason Anderson in second and third. Jett Lawrence had a tough start to the season finishing twelfth as well as his brother Hunter Lawrence who ended up eleventh. One of the fastest riders on the track was Eli Tomac, however a crash early only allowed him to catch up to fifth by the end of the race. The Field is set for San Diego and were ready to go racing.

LET’S LOOK AT THE POINTS LEADERS
Chase Sexton leads by three points over Ken Roczen heading into San Diego.
Chase Sexton had spoken in recent press conferences that he was feeling more motivated than ever and feeling comfortable on board his KTM 450 SX-F. He said that it’s easier to stay locked in and focused during the race when you’re having fun. Well he proved that this past weekend with a heat race and main event wins. Chase was unstoppable as he started near the fourth position in the main, he made his way up to the front in the opening laps. He was quite a bit faster than the rest of the field and even after a mistake where he stalled the bike, was able to build a gap on the other riders. Chase won his first 450 class season opener and became the rider that everyone will be chasing in San Diego.
Jo Shimoda picked up the win in Anaheim.
Jo Shimoda was the winner of the 250 class at the season opener. When in qualifying and the heat race, it did not really seem as if Jo could run the pace of the leaders. He was not overly aggressive in making passes and was pretty far back from the leaders by the end of the heat. But when the main event came around, Jo Shimoda had the fastest lap time of the entire race. He got out front early and never looked back. Julien Beaumer did make some attempts for the lead, but ultimately there was no stopping Jo Shimoda.
2025 SAN DIEGO SUPERCROSS: RACE DAY SCHEDULE
San Diego does not look as technical as the first round in Anaheim. It again does include a sand section as well as crossings of the starting line. There are technical rhythm sections on the far side of the track as well as after the whoops and two triples.
