Penske Entertainment has confirmed that it has taken on the role of promoter for IndyCar’s season-ending Big Machine Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway, as first reported by RACER.

Under the new arrangement, Penske Entertainment executive Anne Fischgrund, who was previously general manager of the Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend at Iowa, has been appointed president of the event and will relocate from Indianapolis to Nashville. Previous Nashville race promoter Big Machine, owned by Scott Borchetta, will remain involved as the event's entitlement partner.

"Year one at Nashville Superspeedway was a tremendous success, thanks in great part to the terrific partnership and strong leadership exhibited by Scott Borchetta and his team at Big Machine," said Penske Entertainment President and CEO Mark Miles. "As we grow our event portfolio at Penske Entertainment, it's strategically important to take the reins of our season finale at such an exciting and renowned racetrack. And to see the relationship with Big Machine carry forward through this continued partnership only underscores the growth opportunities before us in the Music City."

In addition to continuing as the race's main sponsor, Borchetta will continue to draw upon his extensive network of relationships within Nashville to help the event to maintain a connection with the city despite the race itself taking place in nearby Lebanon, Tenn.

"We are very proud to continue our relationship with IndyCar and build from our record-breaking 2024 season finale as the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix becomes a true crown jewel for Nashville, Middle Tennessee and global motorsports fans," Borchetta said. "We will also continue to produce the incredibly successful downtown street party, which will serve as the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix kickoff event, on Friday, Aug. 29, so make plans to be with us!"

Penske Entertainment's takeover of the Nashville promoter role follows its acquisition of the Long Beach Grand Prix in November, which in turn was preceded by the announcement of a new street race in Arlington, Texas next year. The organization also is also the promoter for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis 500, the Detroit GP, Iowa and Milwaukee.
