Race Report

Green flag, McLaughlin gets the jump and he’s clear before turn one. Will Power gets into the back of Nolan Siegel. Siegel spins into turn three. He collects Louis Foster and Will Power. The caution is out on lap 1.

Newgarden and many others dive to the pit lane as they look to take off the soft set of tires.

Green, McLaughlin leads Rosenqvist into turn one.

Lap 25, McLaughlin leads Rosenqvist by 1.5 seconds. They’re driving away from the rest of the field.

Lap 36, it’s a slow pit stop for Colton Herta as the crew struggles to get the right rear tire installed.

Marcus Armstrong tags the wall. He pits with damage.

Lap 39, McLaughlin cycles back to the race lead after pit stops. He leads Armstrong by 7.5 seconds.

Lap 63, Christian Lungaard leads. He’s on an alternative pit strategy to McLaughlin. McLaughlin runs 6th, 8 seconds back. He and a few others are attempting to run long on a set of tires.

Lap 73

Lap 73, McLaughlin cycles back to the lead. He then heads for the pit lane. Lungaard, Palou, Dixon, Newgarden and others are on the alternate strategy.

Lap 74, Dixon struggles off the final corner. Newgarden dives inside of Dixon into turn one. They rub, Newgarden to 3rd.

Lap 75, Palou cycles to the race lead. Newgarden trails by 4 seconds.

11 to go, Palou leads Newgarden by 1.9 seconds. Newgarden just shaved of 1.2 seconds on that lap, he’s closing fast.

8 to go, Palou leads Newgarden by just 0.7 seconds. Lap traffic sits ahead of the leader.

5 to go, Palou clears the lap car of String Ray Robb. Sting Ray pulls over and he lets Newgarden and Dixon go right by.

2 to go, Palou opens the gap to Newgarden. More lap traffic sits ahead.

1 to go, Dixon has a run on Newgarden. Dixon to 2nd!
