2025 ANAHEIM 1 SUPERCROSS STATS & FACTS 

The points are currently tied at zero coming into the 2025 Anaheim 1 Supercross this weekend. Everyone rider has the same opportunity to snatch a win at the opener and take home the 25 points that go with it. The pressure is on the riders, mechanics, team managers, trainers, and everyone involved with racing this Saturday. Will the offseason work pay off? Only time will tell, but as the season opener rapidly approaches, we wanted to take a quick refresher on where the top-tier riders are sitting thus far.

SUPERCROSS HISTORY LESSON

  • On January 11, 2025, the gate will drop for the 52nd season of Supercross. It will be Round number 760.
  • It all started in 1974 at Daytona, when Pierre Karsmakers won the first round and went on to win the championship aboard his Yamaha.

2025 ANAHEIM 1 SUPERCROSS: WHO’S ON THE GATE?

  • Five former Supercross champs, Tomac, J. Lawrence, Webb, Sexton, and Anderson will line up at A1.
  • There are eight riders with 450 class wins, Tomac, Roczen, Jett Lawrence,  Webb, Sexton, Anderson, Barcia, and Plessinger.
  • Four-time World MX Champion Jorge Prado is here to stay in 2025 with Monster Energy Kawasaki.
  • Former 250SX Champions, Malcolm Stewart, Hunter Lawrence, Dylan Ferrandis, Justin Cooper, and Colt Nichols, are all looking for their first 450SX wins.
  • We have eight manufacturers in each class. Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, GasGas, Husky, and Beta will all be looking for a Round 1 win in the 450SX class while Beta isn’t represented in the 250SX class and Triumph is.
  • Jett Lawrence will have the #1 plate on his Honda. He became the fourth foreign rider to win the 450 Supercross Championship. Chad Reed, Jean-Michel Bayle, and Pierre Karsmakers are the other three to win the 450SX Championship.
  • There have been 25 different 450 SX champions.
  • There have been 67 different 450 SX winners.
  • From 1980-1989 there were no back-to-back SX champions.
  • Not since Ryan Dungey won three championships in a row ’15-’16-’17 has there been a back-to-back Supercross champion. Can Jett pull two in a row off?
  • Honda hasn’t won three consecutive Supercross titles since McGrath ’94, ’95, ’96. They have a chance to do it now with Sexton in ’23 and Lawrence in ’24.

2025 ANAHEIM 1 SUPERCROSS: ACTIVE RIDERS

  • Total Supercross wins by active riders: Tomac-52, Webb-25, Roczen-22, Anderson-14, Sexton-9, Jett Lawrence-8, Barcia-6, Plessinger-1.
  • Championships by active 450 riders: Tomac-2, Webb-2, Anderson-1, Sexton-1, Jett Lawrence-1.
  • Tomac has 96 total SX/MX wins. Can he become only the second rider to eclipse 100 wins?

JETT LAWRENCE 

  • Jett is the defending champion and he’s trying to become the first Honda rider to win back-to-back titles since Ricky Carmichael did it in ’02 and ’03.
  • He’s also trying to become the first foreign rider to win the 450SX title back-to-back.

COOPER WEBB

  • Cooper is a two-time 450SX champ from ’19 and ’21.
  • He’s also a two-time runner-up in final points standings.
  • He has six consecutive finishes in the top seven in final points standings.
  • Since 2019, when Webb won his first championship, he has 25 wins, 61 podiums, and has only missed four races.

CHASE SEXTON

  • The 2023 450SX Champion.
  • Chase was third in Points in 2024.
  • Out of 17 Supercross races last year, he was in the top five 13 times with two wins.
  • Only 13 riders have one SX title, and Sexton is one of them.  He wants to move into the two-title list.

ELI TOMAC

  • Eli Tomac is also a two-time Champion. He won the ’20 and ’22 Supercross titles.
  • He has 52 Main Event wins, putting him second on the all-time Supercross win list.
  • With another win, Tomac will become the first Supercross rider to win at least one Supercross for 11 consecutive seasons.
  • Tomac has a 4.2 average finish.
  • 10 times he’s been in the Top 4 in the final points standings and four-time runner-up in the points standings. Out of 179 starts, he has 127 Top fives and 101 Podiums.

JASON ANDERSON

  • Jason Anderson won the 450SX title in 2018.
  • He’s finished in the top 5 in the final points standings six times.
  • His last Supercross win came in round 17 of the 2022 season.

KEN ROCZEN

  • With a start, 2025 will be Ken’s 15 consecutive season.
  • He’s finished in the top four of the final points six times.
  • With a win, Roczen will have won in 10 seasons.

JUSTIN BARCIA

  • Justin has finished in the top 5 in the final point standings five times.
  • He currently has 13 consecutive seasons with a start.

HUNTER LAWRENCE

  • Hunter scored ninth in Supercross points last season.
  • He had four top-five finishes and a podium in Supercross. However, he picked it up Outdoors and at the SMX playoffs where he finished second in the Championship in both series’.

AARON PLESSINGER

  • Aaron got his first career win at the San Diego Supercross last year.

KYLE CHISHOLM

  • 2025 will be Kyle Chisholm’s 17th consecutive season with a start.  This ties him with Kevin Windham. (Chad Reed has 19 seasons and Mike LaRocco has 18 seasons).

BRAND STATS:

The Liqui-Moly Beta Factory Supercross team is lining up with Benny Bloss and Mitchell Oldenburg in 2025.

  • Last championship by brand: Honda ’24, Yamaha ’22, KTM ’21, Kawasaki ’20, Husky ’18, Suzuki ’10
  • Honda has 237 Supercross wins and 17 titles, and they are poised for another successful season in 2025 with the Lawrence brothers aboard their factory HRC Honda CRF450s.
