The second round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Oldebroek, scheduled for this Saturday, comes too soon for Rick Elzinga of the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 team.
Elzinga sustained an injury to his little finger over the Easter weekend during the sixth round of the MX2 World Championship in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, and will need to rest in preparation for the upcoming Grand Prix races.
Elzinga's weekend in Switzerland got off to a rough start. During free practice on Saturday, he crashed, breaking his little finger and dislocating the knuckle joint. Despite the injury, he managed to limit the damage in the races, finishing 13th and 10th in the motos, placing 12th overall for the day.
The next Grand Prix will take place in Portugal on the weekend of May 3–4.
