The Danish KL Racing team is a young team that is gradually growing and becoming more professional. Together with his wife, he is fully dedicated to this goal and is making great progress.

”My passion for motorsport has always been present, since I was a little boy I have run around my parents’ workshop and messed around with cars, and in many of my young years I have driven a lot of quarter mile races in cars, so always been very fond of gasoline,'' Kristoffer explains.

”In relation to motocross, I really got bitten by it a couple of years ago when I was at a 250cc 2-stroke race in Loket where I helped one of my current riders with the race weekend and then it has just taken off since then. The idea of starting my own team came when I was at the track that weekend and saw how it all worked, I went on MANY rides in the equestrian center and got more and more blood in my teeth that I wanted to try it too, and then I’m probably just the type that if I get a good idea I want to try, I don’t wait, I just go ahead and everything must be perfect.

I have to admit that from the time I started the project in earnest last year when we had our first MXGP season until now when we are preparing for the 2025 season. It has been a LONG road, and it has been with both ups and downs, fortunately mostly ups. It’s not a walk in the park to start a team like this, and it requires a lot of focus. I knew from the start that this was what I wanted to do and was completely focused on my team competing in MXGP.'’

This year, the team competed in the World Championship with Nikolaj Skovgaard in the MXGP and Oscar Brix in the MX2 class. Skovgaard scored points in the final Grand Prix in Spain, while Brix secured his first points in Sweden and repeated the feat in Spain.

”Obviously we are a brand new team and that has also affected the riders. Photocredits – Daniele Bareccao been a huge task for them to compete among the world’s best and get used to that environment rather than racing at home in little Denmark. But of course now we’re past our trial stage, and now I’m also starting to demand more, and we definitely need better placings in the coming season. Next year we have two new riders joining the team, Magnus Smith in the MX2 class and a Malou Jakobsen for the WMX class. So the plan is to compete in all three classes and I have really high hopes for some higher placings. we’re also going to try and do some overseas races which I’m also really looking forward to.'’

As we know from many private teams, it is financially challenging to complete a full season. This is no different for the KL Racing team. However, they have the ambition to expand the number of Grand Prixs in 2025 and even race overseas.

It is VERY hard and VERY expensive. My wife and I put a lot of hours into our project with the team when we are not working in our joint company, we spend the rest of our waking hours on our team. We do everything ourselves.

Fortunately, we have a great bunch of people with us, the riders’ parents, who also put just as many hours into this and we do the job together, we have a fantastic team spirit on our small team where everyone helps and it’s a pure pleasure to be a part of. The calendar for 2025 looks really positive and the last change with a race in Indonesia being replaced by Matterley Basin was the best thing that could happen for our team, both because we really look forward to racing on the legendary track and also because it’s easier for us financially.

It’s going to be a bit busy from March to June, but all in all it’s a great calendar. Personally, I love motocross in Italy, so to stand up to the opera on the track in Trentino and watch the sun rise from the mountains and ride motocross in the delicious "valley" is happiness on a high level.'’
