Fan entertainment for Texas race weekend to feature the High Flying Pages
Today at 11:04 AM
Don‘t miss this flight.
The High-Flying Pages premier aerial troupe will be the featured act for the Texas Motor Speedway Fan Zone family entertainment during the May 2-4 WÜRTH 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY. The high-flying acrobatics are part of the circus atmosphere headed to the NASCAR tripleheader weekend that will encompass amusing animal races, captivating dance groups, outrageous roving performers, mysterious wrestlers, country music and more.
Did we fail to mention that the showstoppers in this stellar entertainment line-up happen to be the fearless stars of the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series? Take in a race every day with the NCTS SpeedyCash.com 250 on the evening of Friday, May 2; NXS Andy‘s Frozen Custard 300 on Saturday, May 3; and NCS WÜRTH 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY on Sunday, May 4.
Fans attending the race weekend will have access to the free Fan Zone entertainment that will be located outside of speedway gates three through seven.
The High-Flying Pages, a family tradition of acrobats that extends generations, will soar high above the crowd with incredible stunts on the Flying Trapeze as well as the Russian Swing. If that doesn‘t get your heart pumping, the Globe of Death will do the trick as these daredevils will ride motorcycles inside the dizzying confines of the enclosed, steel-cage structure.
Here‘s a glimpse at some of the other entertaining acts available during the race weekend:
- If you like your acrobatic action closer to the ground, check out the Lucha Libre wrestling matches. Watch these masked Mexican wrestlers with exotic names soar off the turnbuckle in the ring and put on an acrobatic show themselves.
- NASCAR won‘t be the only ones racing during the weekend. Sit back and cheer for your favorite animal at the Swifty Swine Pig Races. They‘re not exactly speed demons like your favorite NASCAR racers, but they will definitely entertain all the way to the checkered flag.
- If you want to see dancers boogie down or get funky, look no further than Boogie Storm and Funkanometry. Both were featured contestants on "America‘s Got Talent" and provide distinctly different dance entertainment. Boogie Storm is a dance ensemble outfitted in the iconic Stormtrooper outfits from "Star Wars" and their moves are truly out of this world. Funkanometry is a dynamic hip hop and pop dance duo from Vancouver Island, Canada, that also will impress. They are well known for their viral dance video to the Bee Gees‘ "Stayin’ Alive" that has garnered more than 60 million views.
- Country music fans will have an opportunity to put their dance moves on full display when the Neon Prophets perform each day. The popular Fort Worth-based country music cover band will perform 45-minute sets each day and play some of your favorite songs.
- Texas Motor Speedway campers will get some live music virtually at their doorsteps. TMS will host a Roaming Camping Party on Saturday, May 3, from 6-10 p.m. featuring the ever-popular Flying Ivories Dueling Pianos. The piano players will travel from campground to campground aboard a mobile stage and get the party going with an all-request, rock-and-roll singalong.
But wait, there‘s more! Be sure to keep an eye out for the roving performers on property that — honestly — will be extremely difficult to miss.
- Rock-IT The Robot is a nine-foot tall, blue-and-green galactic ambassador of goodwill that likes to Kick-IT with NASCAR fans. This friendly giant will engage with fans through his built-in sound system for speech and music.
- RoboCars are what appear to be costumed performers, but they will transform into a different mix of car makes and models right before your eyes while displaying some impressive driving skills.
- AmirrorCAN Men truly represent 'Merica. The men will be sporting custom-made, mirrored suits with each representing the red, white and blue of the American flag in a walking display of patriotism.
- The Strolling Plant is innocently in his flower pot one moment and then the next he is frolicking among the NASCAR fans or standing on his mini-segway. Get ready for plenty of humor and "plant-related" banter as the Strolling Plant tours the grounds.
