Notes — Cup cars return to Homestead on 2024 tire set-up: Being on 18-inch bead diameter tires, NASCAR Cup teams will run a different tire set-up than those in the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series at Homestead this week . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires Cup teams ran at Homestead in 2024 . . . this is also the same tire set-up these teams ran at Las Vegas last weekend, and twice at Darlington and on the Charlotte oval last year… with this 18-inch tire, and its lower profile sidewall, NASCAR Cup cars do not run inner liners in any of their tires.

Goodyear quote – Stu Grant, Goodyear’s general manager of glob race tires: “We go to Homestead this week, which is a track that produces some of the best racing on the NASCAR circuit. Homestead has a high tire wear surface that leads to a couple factors that make for good racing. First, the high wear leads to more lap-time fall-off, meaning tire management comes into play and we see more ‘comers’ and ‘goers’ throughout the field over the course of a run. Teams will opt for four fresh Goodyear tires at nearly every pit stop, highlighting the critical role of pit crews.  This combination ensures a competitive race for the teams and an exciting experience for the fans."

Notes — Xfinity, Truck teams return to Homestead on established tire set-up:  Being on 15-inch bead diameter tires, NASCAR Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series teams will run a different tire set-up than those in the Cup Series at Homestead this weekend . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires teams in both of these series have run at Homestead since the beginning of 2022 . . . they also ran this same tire set-up at Darlington last season . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, Xfinity and Truck teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Homestead . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
