Sammy Smith and Taylor Gray had a heated conversation at the medical center after crashing on the final lap at Martinsville Speedway

The NASCAR Xfinity Series raced at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday night. The race ended in complete chaos.

Watch the video of the final laps from Martinsville Speedway below.

A restart in NASCAR Overtime, Taylor Gray lined up the rear bumper of Sammy Smith into turn one. Smith was shoved off the bottom lane. They ran side by side off turn two.

As they took the white flag, Gray and Smith remained side by side for the lead. Gray drove it deep to the bottom in turn one. He missed the bottom and drove into the door of Gray.

Gray led off turn two. Heading into turn three for the final time, Smith lined up the rear bumper of Gray. From a car lengths back, Smith drove it deep into the corner and slammed the bumper of Gray.

Gray went spinning.

At the same time, Austin Hill drove into the bumper of Justin Allgaier. Allgaier was shoved into Sammy Smith. All three were moved out of the way.

Austin Hill drove under them to take the win.

Gray and Smith both walked to the infield medical center. They exchanged words outside the front door.

Taylor Gray comments

“It sucks. We had the best car all day,” Gray told The CW.

“It’s unfortunate, it’s the same story I’ve lived here for 2 years. It is what it is, long year.”

20-year-old Taylor Gray is in his first full-time season with the NASCAR Xfinity Series while driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Sammy Smith comments

“Absolutely it was egregious,” Smith told The CW.

“I’m not proud of that. But, if roles reversed, he would have done the same thing to me. I mean, he’s got no respect for me.”

“I didn’t move him those first couple restarts. He was flipping me off under the red flag and swerving at me.”

“It’s definitely uncalled for and I’m not proud of it. He would have done the same thing, that’s what I told him. We’ll see what happens after that.”

“If you’re not the one doing it, someone’s going to do it to you. Everyone’s going to dog on me. It’s just what you gotta do.”

“We have a little bit of a past. I know he has no respect for me. Then, flipping me off under the red flag, that right there, that was the line for me.”

“I’m sure we’ll go at it a couple more times. I’m not going to let him have the last bite.”

20-year-old Sammy Smith is in his third year of full-time racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
