Aegerter has been declared fit for a World Superbike return at Estoril

For the first time since Portimao Dominique Aegerter will be back on track at Estoril.

Dominique Aegerter was forced to miss the last three World Superbike rounds with a right shoulder injury. However, the Swiss rider is aiming to be back on track this weekend at Estoril.

Aegerter has undergone a medical assessment with the FIM WorldSBK Medical Director. Ths Swiss rider passed his assessment and has been declared fit to ride in Free Practice One on Friday.

The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team are prepared if Aegerter cannot ride after Free Practice One as they have Alessandro Delbianco waiting in the wings to step in if he is needed.

This will be the first time Aegerter has ridden a Superbike at Estoril. In the past Aegerter has won three races at the Portuguese circuit, but all on Supersport machinery.

Dominique Aegerter: "Finally, hopefully I can ride again and see again all the guys! I couldn't wait to be back in action and every day I worked very hard on my recovery.

"It won't be an easy weekend, not going to lie, as I'll be back after a long time and still have some pain in my ribs and shoulder, and although I already know the track, I've never ridden there with a Superbike, so it'll be quite challenging, but the most important thing is that I can try to race again and I'm impatient to see everyone."
