Big changes are occurring inside the Yamaha camp ahead of the 2025 World Superbike season after a disappointing 2024 campaign.
After a winless 2024 World Superbike season the Pata Yamaha Prometeon team will welcome new faces into their garage for 2025.
Jonathan Rea changes crew chief after one year with Andrew Pitt:
The most notable change occurs on Jonathan Rea's side of the factory Yamaha garage. The #65 will have a new crew chief for the 2025 World Superbike season.
Oriol 'Uri' Pallares will take up the crew chief role for Rea after being his chief mechanic in 2024. Paralles followed Rea from Kawasaki to Yamaha and will become his crew chief for the first time.
This means that two-time World Supersport Champion, Andrew Pitt, will no longer be in Rea's side of the garage. However, it is unclear what his new role in the team will be for the 2025 season.
Eugene Laverty arrives at Yamaha Motor Europe for 2025:
Former World Superbike rider, Eugene Laverty, will also join Yamaha Motor Europe for the 2025 World Superbike season.
The Irishman competed in World Superbikes for 10 years with Yamaha, Aprilia, Suzuki, Ducati and BMW. The experienced Superbike rider joins Yamaha Motor Europe as a rider coach.
World Superbike Test in Jerez:
Across the next two days (26th + 27th of November) Yamaha, Bimota, Kawasaki and Marc VDS will take part in a two-day test in Jerez.
This will be the final World Superbike test of 2024 before all the teams head off on their winter breaks before the 2025 season kicks off in February.
