Sam Lowes returns to WorldSBK action after Aragon shoulder injury

After missing Sunday action at MotorLand Aragon Sam Lowes will be back in action at Estoril.

In between the Aragon and Estoril World Superbike rounds ELF Marc VDS Racing Team and Sam Lowes announced an extension of their partnership into the 2026 season.

Lowes is entering into the final two rounds of his rookie World Superbike season. The last two rounds of the season take Lowes to Estoril in Portugal and Jerez in Spain.

With six races to go Lowes is 18th in the World Superbike Championship. However, the British rider has struggled with injuries during his debut season.

Lowes is now prepared to end his 2024 season on a high before his second year in the Championship in 2025.

Lowes said: "Since the unfortunate incident at the last round in Aragon, I've been working hard to get myself into the best possible shape for these last two races. I've been making good progress and feel the shoulder is improving every day.

"I'm looking forward to getting to Estoril to see how we can perform. Estoril is another track I've never raced at before, so I'm looking forward to the challenge and getting up to speed as quickly as possible.

"This first year in WorldSBK has gone so fast and now we only have two rounds remaining and my only focus is to finish the season strongly with some positive results."
