Colapinto manager optimistic on rookie's 2025 F1 chances

Franco Colapinto's near-term future in F1 is looking good, with the Williams rookie's manager expressing overwhelming confidence in his prospects for 2025 despite uncertainties about where he'll land.

Colapinto's standout performances this season with Williams have brought him into the spotlight, attracting interest from several prominent teams, including Red Bull and Alpine.

However, the 21-year-old charger is navigating a complex situation. Williams' commitment to Alex Albon and new recruit Carlos Sainz for 2025 exclude the Argentine from the Grove-based squad's lineup.

But team boss James Vowles is eager to keep his young apprentice in the game in 2025, preferably on a loan-structured deal with a rival outfit. But so far the Williams chief has not been successful in sealing an agreement along those lines.

And yet Maria Catarineu, the commercial director of Bullet Sports Management which looks after Colapinto's interests, suggests that the latter's odds of returning to the grid in 2025 are off the scale.

When asked by Campeones TV to rate her client's chances on a scale from one to ten, Catarineu responded: "20! I think when so many people put so much intention into making something happen, it would be fair that it ends up happening."

Catarineu's comment reflects the growing support behind Colapinto and the widespread recognition of his talent across the paddock.

"What is certain is that right now we are with Williams and we are still with Williams," she added. "It's no secret as you have seen, that there is a very big will for Franco to continue in F1 in 2025."

Last week, rumors emerged that Williams had reached an agreement with Red Bull for Colapinto's services – hearsay doubled by gossip suggesting that Red Bull could also take Sainz off Williams' hands which would allow Colapinto to remain at Grove.

But Catarineu insists that here protégé has not signed a new team, clarifying that "nothing has been signed and I can't confirm anything."

"We would love to stay at Williams, but they already have their contracts," she said. "So they are looking for the best structure to keep Franco in F1 in the best way for both Franco and Williams."

Catarineu emphasized the strong relationship with Williams, highlighting the team's commitment to ensuring Colapinto's F1 future.

"It's a great team and we feel like a family," she said. "Williams' results are improving. I know that their intention is to look for the best deal for Franco for the future.

"Williams are the first ones to know that Franco deserves to stay in F1, and they are trying to make it happen."

As the final pieces of the 2025 grid fall into place, F1 fans eagerly await the announcement of Colapinto's future. Whether he remains with Williams or joins another team, his presence on the grid is sure to add excitement and intrigue to the upcoming season.
