Aston Martin F1 has announced that Dan Fallows has relinquished his role as technical director with the Silverstone-based outfit, but will remain with the Group.

Fallows transfer to Aston Martin from Red Bull, where he served as the team's head of aerodynamics, was a high-profile affair in 2021, with the British engineer joining Lawrence Stroll's outfit in the spring of 2022.

The Briton's supervision of the development of the team's ground-effect AMR23 design led to an impressive first half of the 2023 season, with Fernando Alonso claiming six podium finishes in the opening eight races.

However, the outfit's performance waned in the second half of its campaign, and while there were hopes of another development step forward last winter, Aston Martin has remained consigned to F1's mid-field this season, well adrift from the field's top four contenders.

As team owner Lawrence Stroll continues to build up his outfit's big ambitions, significant upper management changes have been implemented this year.

The Canadian billionaire succeeded in luring legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey to Silverstone while former Ferrari technical director Enrico Cardile will fulfill the role of chief technical officer from 2025.

Finally, former Mercedes HPP engine guru Andy Cowell has taken over as Group CEO from Martin Whitmarsh.

The array of changes coupled with the team's disappointing campaign likely compelled Aston to shift Fallows out of his position, although the outfit has made no mention of a replacement.

"The Aston Martin Formula 1 Team and Technical Director Dan Fallows have today jointly announced that from November, Dan will no longer serve as Technical Director of the Formula One Team. Dan will remain with the Group," commented Aston Martin in a statement released on Tuesday.

"I would like to thank Dan for his contribution to Aston Martin Aramco in the last two years," added Cowell. "Dan led the team to the success of the AMR23 which secured eight podiums last season."

Dan Fallows said: "In my time at Aston Martin, it has been a joy and a privilege to guide the technical team on their journey towards being race and championship winners.  It is time for me to pass on the baton, but I look forward to watching the team's future success, which I am sure will come soon."
