- One of Australia’s most affordable new SUVs
- Two model grades with 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine
- Priced from $23,990 drive-away
New-car buyers on a budget will have another option to consider from this week, as orders open for the 2025 Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, priced from $23,990 drive-away.
The Tiggo 4 Pro is a compact SUV slightly smaller than Chery’s current Omoda 5, and similar in external dimensions to an MG ZS, Hyundai Kona or Mazda CX-30.
It is the fourth-most affordable new car on sale in Australia, behind only the Kia Picanto (from $20,690 drive-away), soon-to-be-axed Suzuki Ignis (from $22,490 drive-away) and about-to-be-replaced MG ZS Excite ($21,990 drive-away this month).
The better-equipped Tiggo 4 Pro Ultimate variant – adding a sunroof, synthetic leather-look seat trim, a 360-degree camera and other extras over the base Urban – costs $26,990 drive-away.
While it is new to Australia, the Tiggo 4 Pro has been on sale in its domestic market of China since 2017, and has been treated to multiple styling and equipment updates.
The version coming to local shores is the most recent update, with a restyled front fascia, and brand-new interior with dual 10.25-inch displays similar to the larger Omoda 5.
A restyled rear end with a full-width LED tail-light bar – as well as black trim on the rear window pillars for a ‘floating’ look – shown overseas isn’t coming to Australia.
Seven airbags are fitted as standard, including one between the front seats – a feature critical to a high score under the latest ANCAP safety test protocols.
It measures 4351mm long, 1831mm wide and 1662mm tall, riding on a 2610mm wheelbase – making it only 23mm shorter nose to tail and 1mm narrower than the Chery Omoda 5, but unchanged in wheelbase, and 74mm lower.
Powering the Tiggo 4 Pro is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine developing 108kW and 210Nm, matched with a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT) driving the front wheels.
Chery claims fuel consumption in mixed driving of 7.3 litres per 100 kilometres, from a 51-litre fuel tank that can support 91-octane regular unleaded petrol.
Standard equipment in the base Urban includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch instrument display, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with wired/wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloth seats, keyless entry and start, and dual-zone climate control.
A full suite of advanced safety technology is also standard across the range, such as autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep and lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
The 2025 Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is available to order now, ahead of the first showroom arrivals due next month.
