The Genesis G80 luxury sedan will be offered in a blacked-out edition in Australia from later this year.
The 2025 Genesis G80 Black has been unveiled in South Korea with – as its name suggests – a darkened theme inside and out.
Genesis has confirmed the G80 Black sedan will launch in Australia later this year as the first blacked-out model from the brand, with the GV80 Black SUV available in South Korea currently unconfirmed for local showrooms.
Over standard G80 variants, the new variant is only offered with black exterior paint and adds a darkened grille, front Genesis emblem, headlight bezels, rear bumper moulding, and dark grey rear Genesis lettering.
To complete the blacked-out theme, it includes gloss black 20-inch alloy wheels with floating centre caps and black brake calipers with 'Genesis' lettering.
Inside, the G80 Black features dark trim "applied to even the smallest details" instead of chrome, such as the air-conditioning controls, doors and centre console switchgear, steering wheel, paddle shifters, Bang & Olufsen speaker grilles, and door steps.
In addition, the model adds a unique black ash wood garnish, black quilted nappa leather upholstery, and exclusive welcome and goodbye animations on its 27-inch combined infotainment and instrument cluster display.
Genesis offers four blacked-out models in South Korea: the left-hand-drive-only G90 Black sedan, the GV80 Black wagon and coupe, and now the G80 Black.

Pricing for the all-wheel-drive 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 version of the Genesis G80 Black in South Korea starts from ₩87,050,000 ($AU96,300), ₩2,000,000 ($AU2200) more than the standard model.
An all-wheel-drive 2.5-litre turbo four-cylinder model is available for ₩82,750,000 ($AU91,500) – though it is unclear if Genesis plans to offer both powertrains for the G80 Black in Australia, or if it'll be limited to the V6.
The updated Genesis G80 line-up launched in Australia in mid-2024 in two Luxury variants: a rear-wheel-drive 2.5T four-cylinder for $104,000 before on-road costs and an all-wheel-drive 3.5T V6 for $121,000.
It is an increase of $19,416 over the previous circa-$85,000 entry price – however the G80 2.5T is fitted with the content of the old Luxury Package as standard, previously a $14,000 option, along with new equipment.
