2025 Genesis GV60 electric car revealed: Minor tweaks arriving later this year to brand's first EV

The 2025 Genesis GV60 electric car has been revealed with minor tweaks to exterior and interior styling to keep things fresh for another few years.

Due to land in Australian showrooms in the third quarter of 2025 (July – September), the new GV60 features a fresh front bumper, now with a new grille and lower air intakes, while the headlights also sport Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology.

In profile, the 2025 GV60 is fitted with new-look 21-inch wheels and body-coloured wheelarch cladding, as well a matching rear bumper insert that combine for a "modern and rugged SUV look that underscores the GV60's wide and low stance," according to Genesis.

Inside, the GV60 scores the 27-inch single screen that encompasses both infotainment and instrumentation that first debuted on the updated GV80 and also appeared on the facelifted GV70.

Also new is a three-spoke steering wheel, while the signature Crystal Sphere that flips over on startup to reveal the shifter is retained in the new model.

Genesis has not mentioned any powertrain updates, but given the GV60 shares the same E-GMP underpinnings as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that was refreshed last year, some changes are expected.

For reference, the outgoing base GV60 features a dual-electric motor set-up for 234kW/605Nm, as well as a 77.4kWh battery that is rated for a range of 470km on the WLTP standard.

The existing top-spec Performance variant ups the ante to 360kW/700Nm in Boost Mode, but also cuts the driving range figure down to 466km.

All-wheel-drive versions of the updated Ioniq 5 meanwhile, now feature a larger 84kWh battery, boosting driving range by up to 63km, according to Hyundai, while power outputs also increased 5kW.

The updated Ioniq 5 that landed in local showrooms in the middle of 2024, also coincided with an increase in price, so expect the new Genesis GV60 to also march further upmarket when it arrives.

The current GV60 ranges starts from $103,384 before on-road costs for the unnamed base variant, while the flagship Performance is positioned at $110,384.

Pricing for the new GV60 is expected in the next few months ahead of the new model going on sale in the brand's South Korean home market.
