- Trim updates for entry-level G20 Roadster, RF now limited to GT variants
- Priced from $43,020 before on-road costs
A limited number of 2025 Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary special editions have been announced for Australia, along with a revised line-up.
Mazda Australia has confirmed 50 examples of the MX-5 35th Anniversary will arrive from January 2025, with order books for the limited-run convertible now open.
Based on the Roadster GT manual variant, the 35th Anniversary – naturally unveiled five years after the MX-5 30th Anniversary edition announced in 2019 – features the brand's new Artisan Red metallic paint finish first seen in the CX-90 flagship SUV and Mazda 6 20th Anniversary Edition.
It is matched with a beige soft top instead of the black fabric on standard MX-5 convertibles, unique 17-inch alloy wheels, and a 30th Anniversary badge.
Inside, the special edition adds tan nappa leather upholstery – usually reserved for the RF Black Roof variant – with a 35th Anniversary emblem on the headrests, beige carpet, and 35th Anniversary-badged beige floor mats.
The 35th Anniversary also receives the DSC-Track stability control mode, which launched with the recently-launched facelifted 'ND3' model but was limited to the track-focused Roadster GT RS variant.

DSC-Track reduces the frequency of the traction and stability controls to allow the vehicle to drift more than usual during track driving, with the vehicle only intervening "in a hazardous spin that the driver is unable to control".
Across the wider MX-5 line-up, the entry-level G20 Roadster is fitted with new cloth and suede upholstery "for better driving support", leather-accented 'Maztex' centre control and armrests, and door trims matched to the vehicle's exterior colour.
The G20 Roadster remains limited to a six-speed manual transmission.
Mazda Australia has removed the entry-level G20 RF from the MX-5 line-up, with the RF (Retractable Fastback) now limited to GT and GT RS variants and seeing the cost-of-entry into an RF rise by almost $8000.
Prices for carryover MX-5 variants have increased $1060 for the G20 RF GT Black Roof, $1080 for all G20 GT and G20 GT RS variants, and $1500 for the entry-level G20 Roadster manual.
The updated 2025 Mazda MX-5 range will arrive in Australia in January, including the 35th Anniversary Edition.
